2009 Show
The North East Sea Angling and Boat Show is believed to be the only sea and boat angling show in the country now. The show this year attracted visitors from as far as Edinburgh and Glasgow, with exhibitors coming from all over the UK and Southern Ireland.
Stands at the show included Shimano, Hardy & Greys and Fox International who all had their latest products on display.
One product that created a lot of interest at this year’s show was the Freedom Hawk Kayak which was showcased by Black Sheep Kayaks. This is an American product and the kayak on display is the only one in the country at present. The unique design of this kayak enables the angler aboard to pull two levers, which brings out two outriggers and makes it possible to stand up to cast - which is impossible with any other type of kayak.
Amble Boat Company had some of their own design craft on display outside the hall, while inside the hall P.A. Lynch had Orkney boats and Ocean Kayaks. Storrar Marine showed the Zego catamaran-type craft. It looks like a jet-ski and is fitted with an outboard engine.
Steve Souter an Brian Burn, both Scottish Internationals, spent the two days of the show demonstrating rig tying, while on the Saturday members of the North East Surfcasting Association and the UK Surfcasting Association demonstrating casting techniques and gave advice.
Anglers Wold Holidays, Kings Angling Holidays and Din Tur were all available to book holidays, while Irish charter boat and hotel owners were kept busy giving advice on angling in Ireland.

“We are right behind what Sam and his team are trying to do with the North East Sea Angling And Boat Show and have attended both events so far. The event is well supported by both the anglers and the trade and has a nice, friendly feel to it. It’s busy enough to be well worth attending without being a zoo!! The north east region seems to get missed by much of the angling press, but it’s clear from the show that there’s a thriving and enthusiastic community of anglers in the region who really appreciated the chance to see the latest tackle and holiday offerings and meet some of the stars of the shore and boat fishing scene face to face. There’s a taster of the show, including an interview with Sam, in our programme about Seaham Angling Club – part of the ‘Club Class’ series of TV shows on www.OnlineFishing.tv .”

"During the show, Century Composites sold posters and stickers which were autographed by Danny Moeskops. All the money raised from these sales was donated to the R.N.L.I. The picture shows Danny and the Century Composites team at the presentation to the R.N.L.I."
Just a few of our satisfied customers:
'The team and I have just returned from the North East Sea Angling
& Boat Show held at Sunderland. The show, organised by old sea dog
Sam Harris was a runaway success and practically every exhibitor has signed
up again for next year's event. This was the first show of its kind held
in the area - a dedicated sea fishing show. Companies like Shimano, Century,
Anyfish Anywhere, Din-Tur, Central Fisheries Board and High Octane made
sure there was plenty for visitors to see.
The atmosphere at the event was great and it was a real coming together
of like-minded anglers and sea fishing related businesses. On both the
Saturday and Sunday there was a question and answer session upstairs in
the bar and it was great to hit the stage with the lads from TSF, Mike
Thrussell and World Casting Champion Danny Moeskops. We'll be running
a feature on the show next year in readiness for the next one, so look
out for the dates that are due to be released soon'.

'ALL GOOD PALS!
At the North East Sea Angling and Boat Show at Sunderland Barney Wright,
Editor of Total Sea Fishing magazine, his deputy Roj Mortimore, mag contributor
Shaun Cummings and I were scheduled to do a Q&A session for the people
coming in to the show both days.
Also presenting Q&A sessions were casting champion Danny Moeskops,
Dave Barham, Editor of Boat Fishing Monthly, and contributor Jim O'Donnell.
Chatting amongst ourselves we decided it was daft all doing different
sessions so we decided to do something unique and all get together on
stage at once to give as wide an opinion and overall answers to the questions
as we could.
It couldn't have worked better! There was a mass of practical experience
on stage and though the questions were being fired at us by the audience
it was like a chat in the pub and it went down exceptionally well. It
was great to get two so called "rival" mags together on the
stage and show some real unity within the sport. Unique in my experience!'

'I recently returned from the first ever North East Sea Angling and
Boat Show in Sunderland and what a great show it was - albeit on a small
scale for its launch year. There was plenty on show from the trade and
I feel that everyone enjoyed their visit. I had Roger Mortimore and Mike
Thrussell with me on the TSF stand and also present were Century, Shimano,
top North East angler Gary Pye, World Champion caster Danny Moeskops (he
gave casting demonstrations), the National Federation of Sea anglers,
the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and many more ... roll on next
year, because it will surely be even better next time around! It's certainly
a show that will 'grow'.'

'Earlier this month Phil and Mark from P.A. Lynch Limited attended
the first North East Sea Angling and Boat Show over the weekend of the
25th and 26th October.
Although unsure of what to expect, the overall impressions was that of
a well attended, well organised show with people looking to buy. Not bad
for the first attempt and is sure to help ensure it returns next year.'
